Why Mars Colonization is Important and Why the First Base Will Be on the Moon

Mars is the closest planet that could become a home for humans. However, before we go to Mars, we need to solve many challenges. The first base will be located on the Moon. It is only 384,000 km away from Earth, which reduces transportation and resource costs. The Moon will also serve as an excellent platform for testing the technologies that will be used on Mars.
The Moon has resources such as water and helium-3, which will be useful for building bases and sustaining life on Mars. A lunar base will help us learn to work in extreme conditions and extract resources.
